New WEEE Regulations

The new Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations are now in full force for businesses in the UK.
These regulations aim to reduce the amount of this waste going to landfill, and increase recovery and recycling rates.

Do these regulations apply to your business?
Any business that manufactures, brands or imports electrical or electronic products is known as a 'producer' and is affected. Businesses selling electrical items or storing, treating or dismantling WEEE will also be affected. The legislation applies to household and non-household products.

'WEEE Day' (1st July 2007) is now upon us and the full take back, treatment and recycling systems now have to be in place.

In response to the new regulations, Answer Enterprise ERP software has WEEE Disposal Regulations built in. Parts/products can easily be flagged as being subject to disposal regulations and disposal costs are recorded and invoiced appropriately. Disposal Analysis tools allow you to categorise the part/product and mark it as household or non household as required.

Answer at IT Logistics Show

Answer Solutions

We recently exhibited at the newly created IT & Logistics UK exhibition in Birmingham.
This is the first of these shows, incorporating the Softworld Supply Chain and for the first time including hardware and software solutions in the same place.

This was the ideal opportunity to promote our latest Answer Enterprise release, including a major new CRM Campaigns Module and the continued development of the Answer Point of Sale (POS module). We got very positive responses to these new developments and to the Answer software packages as a whole with plenty of visitors to our stand.

Our new look information packs also proved to be a big hit with product CDs , leaflets and case studies all disappearing at a rapid rate!

Exhibitions like this give potential customers the opportunity for hands on experience of Answer software. Face to face interaction with prospective clients means we can demonstrate the unique and varied features of our software specifically for their business, giving a clear picture of the benefits they could see by implementing an Answer system.

Answer Retail Release 10.2 is now available.
This release introduces Licence Keys for Transact and Transact Manager, improved till communications and a number of other significant enhancements.

The introduction of Licence Keys ensures you know that each copy Transact and Transact Manager is the latest, most up to date version. Licence Keys are automatically available for all registered versions of software and will be supplied to each customer individually.

This has also led to communications between Transact tills and Transact Manager back office have been streamlined and simplified.
Now, if all tills are on the same network then Transact Manager can manage and control all till updates. If you have remote branches then a single Transact till can handle the communication with Transact Manager back office for the whole branch.
When the new licence details for each till are entered into Transact Manager you will also define where the till is and how it communicates with the back office. Several guides are available for customers to ensure this is set up correctly.

Other Highlights:

  • New A4 print configuration facilities
  • Ability to prevent retired POS employees using the till
  • Facility to add notes to Purchase Orders, to be printed on the PO Note or for internal use only
